Youth Rowing

Here at Whitemarsh Boat Club we aim to foster a supportive environment for the growth of our young athletes. These athletes are the next generation of rowers that will represent their colleges, and maybe even their country as they grow and mature in the sport. Our experienced coaches bring decades of knowledge to our youth athletes. They are led by our Director of Rowing and High Performance coach, Sean Hall, who is a three-time Olympian. The coaches who lead and teach our athletes offer unmatched expertise, and a dedication to the personal growth of our athletes. This is seen in the successes of our crews in the past few years, our girls’ 8+ has been consistently ranked in the top 10 crews in the country, and our boys’ 4x recently made an impressive mark by reaching the quarterfinals at the prestigious Royal Henley Regatta. At Whitemarsh we champion sportsmanship, friendship, and the enhancement of both physical and mental health through competitive rowing. Join us and become part of a legacy where tradition meets excellence to unlock your full potential, create friendships, and achieve success both on and off the water.

Why Whitemarsh Boat Club

Our Youth Program is led by some of the best coaches in the area, and our crews have the success to show it. Their success is seen in results with us here at WBC, but also in the number of athletes who go on to succeed at a collegiate level.

Middle School Team

We offer this program year-round to Middle School athletes with previous rowing experience. This team focuses on the technical side of the stroke, our athletes will learn proper form and technique from our experienced coaches.

Race Team

We offer our Race Team year-round to High School athletes whose High School do not have a Scholastic rowing program. The race team focuses on the performance of our top boats, aiming to win important regattas through the season.

Summer Camps

During the summer months we offer six week-long camps for our youth athletes. These camps are for both new rowers, and rowers with some experience. These camps run all day and give rowers valuable time on the water to learn or master the rowing technique.
