Who is the Summer Tech Team?

Program Goals

  • Become a better technical rower
  • Focus on sculling technique
  • Focus on sweeping technique (if numbers allow)
  • Prepare athletes for any level of Youth Rowing in the 2023-24 season

Julia KartenCoach
Coach Karten is on the Women’s Rowing team at the University of Southern California. She attended Harriton High School and started rowing for Whitemarsh in her sophomore year. She raced competitively with WBC during the school years and had the opportunity to learn how to scull and sweep. She also rowed for a competitive racing camp in the summers of 2021 and 2022 where her crew won gold in the Women’s Youth 8+ at Youth Summer Nationals in 2022. Julia loves the outdoors and doing anything active, which is why she loves rowing!

Practice Schedule

  • July 11 – August 17
  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 4:00-6:00 PM
    • Drop off begins at 3:45, Pick up ends at 6:15
  • Attendance is not mandatory, attend as many practices as possible!

Payment Information

For athletes who have participated in a WBC program in 2023 the total cost of the program is $995, which can be paid here.

For athletes who have not participated in a WBC program in 2023 the total cost of the program is $925, which can be paid here.
