High Performance Successes
2024
In 2024 Whitemarsh had multiple athletes and boats representing the USA and WBC on an international scale. Sophia Luwis was named to the 2024 Olympic Team as the spare for the lightweight women’s 2x. She also placed 2nd at World Cup 2 and competed at the Royal Henley Regatta. Whitemarsh also became the home of a lightweight women’s 4x that represented WBC at the Holland Beker Regatta, where they placed first in their event. Audrey Boersen also represented the USA at World Cup 2, Holland Beker Regatta, and World Cup 3. She was also named to the World Championship Team as the lightweight women’s 1x, where she placed 8th in a field full of 2024 Olympians.
2023
In 2023 Whitemarsh had two athletes representing the USA. Audrey Boersen competed at World Cup 2 in the lightweight woman’s double and went on to be the spare for this Olympic-class boat at the World Championships. Sophia Luwis represented the US and WBC at various regattas throughout Europe including Bled International, World Cup 2, Royal Henley Regatta, and World Cup 3. She also went on to represent the USA at World Championships in the Lightweight Women’s 1x, where she came home with a bronze medal!
2022
In 2022 Whitemarsh Boat Club became the home to the lightweight women’s 4x. This boat went to Europe to represent the club at the Holland Beker Regatta in the Netherlands, as well as at Women’s Henley Regatta. They went on to be named to the 2022 National Team for the World Championships held in Racice, Czech Republic.
