Adult Rowing Programs
Masters Learn-to-Row
This is a four-week program that runs in the summer from June to August. This program is designed for adults who want to learn to row. Participants will graduate the program with a fundamental understanding of the stroke and the rowing equipment.
Technique and Transition (TnT)
Our Masters TnT team is a coached program for rowers of all levels. To participate in this program athletes must have some experience rowing, either by completing WBC’s Learn-to-Row Program, or other previous rowing experience. We recommend this program if you recently learned to row, are feeling a little rusty, or if you are an experienced rower looking for sessions where you can focus on improving your stroke. This team aims to graduate rowers up to the Club Row level.
Masters Learn-to-Erg
This program takes place in the winter and is designed to teach rowing to new athletes on the indoor rowing machines (Ergometers). Participating in this program gives you early access to our Masters Learn-to-Row program in the spring.
Club Row
Club rows are primarily coached sessions, which include drills and planned workouts. These sessions will be at a lower intensity than race practices, with less of a technical focus than the TnT sessions. Racing is optional for Club rowers. Prior rowing (and preferably racing) experience is required to participate in club rows. Members coming up through the WBC Learn-to-Row and TnT programs must have achieved “graduation” and/or be referred by their TnT coaches.
Race Team
The purpose and priority for the WBC Race Team is to actively prepare for racing and represent WBC in events throughout the year. Race practices are held in preparation for the 1000m races in the summer, and head races in the fall. It is the intent of this program to enter multiple boats in races throughout the year in order to win or place as highly as possible. This team will prioritize larger and more important regattas (HOCR, Canadian Henley, Masters Nationals, Masters Worlds, etc.) as the program becomes more successful.
