Location and Facilities
The Upper Schuylkill River offers four miles of pristine water for training, stretching from the Fayette Street Bridge to Flat Rock Dam—making it the perfect location for rowers of all levels. Here, the current is noticeable but manageable, ensuring optimal rowing conditions except after heavy rainfall. But the river typically reopens a day or two earlier than downstream areas, allowing for more uninterrupted training.
While a few other high school and college programs share this stretch of the river, the lower volume of rowers means you can enjoy longer stretches of clear water. At Whitemarsh Boat Club, you’ll have the space and tranquility needed to refine your skills and truly enjoy the sport. Experience the benefits of rowing on the Upper Schuylkill—a fantastic setting for athletes to thrive!
