Masters Club Row
What is this team & Who is it for?
Club rows are primarily coached sessions which include drills and planned workouts. These sessions will be at a lower intensity than race practices, with less of a technical focus than TnT sessions. Racing is optional for Club rowers.
Prior rowing (and preferably racing) experience is required to participate in Club rows. Members coming up through WBC Learn-to-Row and TnT programs must have achieved “graduation” from TnT and/or be referred by their TnT coaches.
What will you learn?
- Improved timing and drive sequencing.
- Better bladework and handle control.
- Boat balancing skills.
- Better body postioning and power application.
- Proficiency and technique at higher rates, up to 26 spm.
- 1x rowing on request, with previous gig experience required.
- River navigation and bow seat skills.
- Expansion of the basics of boat care.
- Basic boat and oar rigging.
Program Expectations
- Schedule attendance as far in advance as is reasonable. Honor the schedule or notify coaches if you must miss your session.
- Indicte your racing preferences well in advance. Understand racing lineups will often take precedence, especially closer to racing season.
- Do your best for yourself and your teammates, and reasonably communicate concerns and questions with the coach.
Practice Schedule
The Club Row Program practices twice a week from March to November. Tuesday evenings from 6:15PM-8:15PM and Sunday morning from 6:45AM-8:30AM.
