What is the Youth Summer Camp?
Whitemarsh Boat Club offers Learn-to-Row and Advanced-Level Day Camps for Middle School and High School students. For campers with no experience they can discover rowing in a fun environment with experienced coaches. For athletes with more experience this camp can be used to improve their skills before their upcoming racing season. Sculling (with 2 oars) will primarily be taught with the possibility of sweeping (1 oar) if numbers allow.
Why Whitemarsh?
Whitemarsh is known for teaching people how to row! Our coaches have been teaching people how to row for decades, their expertise ensures that everyone learns to row from the best. In the past years the parents and athletes have reported that they love the camp, and many athletes sign up for an additional camp session. After one week of camp, you will be asking “What’s next?” Whitemarsh is proud to see many of their Learn to Row graduates actively racing in school in the tri county area, and many go on to row in college and as adults.
All camps are four days long from Monday to Thursday. 2023 camp dates are:
June 19-22
June 26-29
July 17-20
July 24-27
August 21-24
August 28-31

Meet your Coach
Joe’s Sullivan has been involved in rowing for over 35 years. Joe’s coaching career began in 1984 at Harriton High School. Since then he has coached all levels of athletes from Learn-to-Row athletes to high performance Junior programs. Joe has taught numerous people to row, from Middle School athletes to adults. Anyone learning to row with Joe will be learning from the best that Whitemarsh has to offer.
