Winter is for getting in shape!
December practices are for those wishing to get a jump on the Spring season, and are generally 3-4 days per week. After the New Year, all levels of rowers work out at Hines Rowing Center 5 days a week, using ergometers, weights, and occasionally rowing on the water as weather and experience permit. Some rowers may compete in indoor rowing competitions, but the winter is focused on fitness. Rowers who are new in the winter, in addition to getting fit, will be taught the basics of technique on rowing machines and will take a trip to nearby indoor rowing tanks to learn the stroke in a more “boat-like” setting.
REGISTRATION OPENS EARLY NOVEMBER.
