Youth Rowing
Whitemarsh Boat Club offers year-round rowing and racing opportunities for male and female middle school and high school students from across the Delaware Valley. The Schuylkill River at Conshohocken offers an ideal place to train. The Club’s location near the intersection of I-76 and 476 gives easy access for families from across the region. Our programs are designed so youth of all skill levels have a place in our organization.
Youth Learn-to-Row
Middle School (grades 6-8) & High School (grades 9-12) students with no or very little rowing experience who are interested in discovering rowing, or know that they want to prepare for the upcoming race season. Offered every Summer.
Middle School Program
Middle School students from 11 years or older. This Program is a fun, low-key way to learn and/or develop the basics of rowing. Offered each Spring, Fall and Winter
Technical Training
Middle and High School students (12-18 years of age) with little to no experience (learn to row, summer camp, and/or previous WBC program), who are not interested in rowing competitively. While you won’t be attending regattas you will be improving with every practice & will also be working hard enough to maintain an aerobic base for the upcoming winter season. Offered year round.
Race Team
High School students (15-18 years of age) whose schools do not offer a rowing team, who are interested in training and racing with other athletes from around the region in regattas. Novice through varsity levels – no experience is needed. Offered each Fall, Spring, Summer.
Winter Training
High School rowers who are looking for a well-rounded approach to “off season” training. Our winter training is an essential part of our Race Team. . Offered each Winter to those who register for our Spring Race Team.
NO EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED to join, simply a willingness to learn new things & work hard. This program is offered to ages 11 and up. We will have coaches available for all levels of athletes allowing everyone to participate. Juniors who sign up will also be eligible to compete at an indoor erg competition each year.
Effective January 1, 2023, All junior participants in any on the water program must first pass a swim test. See Policy HERE
